Becky Steele is a retired lawyer living in Maine. She's an appointed representative of New England Yearly Meeting to the Corporation, and in March 2022, joined AFSC’s Stewardship Committee. Becky is a member of Portland Friends Meeting (NEYM), where she serves on its Ministry and Counsel Committee, its Financial Oversight Committee, and the steering committee for PFM's current meeting-wide threshing as to the right use of the Meeting's resources. Becky first became involved with the AFSC during her 2010-12 time at Pendle Hill, when she worked on some special projects for AFSC in Philadelphia, and enjoyed worshiping at Pendle Hill and Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting. Other Quaker involvement has included FCNL, where she was a Friend in Washington, served on FCNL's Policy and Finance Committees, and was the treasurer of the FCNL Education Fund. Non-Quaker advocacy and board service includes the ACLU-FL (Former Director, Regional Office), Florida Association for Women Lawyers (Past President), WMNF-FM Community Radio (Past President), and serving as a contributing author for the 3d edition of the BNA treatise, Employee Benefits Law.
