Beth Hallowell serves as AFSC’s Director of Research and Analytics. Her research at AFSC aims to develop tools for advocates and journalists to ‘change the narrative’ on war and violence. She leads national mixed methods research projects to gauge opinion and test messages in support of AFSC and its many advocacy partners.
Prior to AFSC, Beth’s research and program work focused on health inequality in the Americas. She has conducted research on the Affordable Care Act rollout in southeastern Pennsylvania and the impact of public health interventions on maternity care in rural Guatemala. Beth received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015, where she teaches research ethics and design.
